Prove your Canvas assignments
are genuinely yours
Whether you write directly in Canvas or draft in Google Docs first, Scripli's Chrome extension records your writing session and issues a certificate that proves a real human was writing — not pasting or generating.
Two ways to use Scripli with Canvas
Option A — Write directly in Canvas
If your instructor has you submit text within Canvas's rich-text assignment box, the Scripli Chrome extension records your session right there. Start a session before you begin typing, write your response, end the session, and receive your certificate.
Option B — Write in Google Docs or Word Online, then submit
Many students write longer assignments in Google Docs or Word Online for formatting flexibility. The Scripli extension records your session there. When you submit to Canvas, include both your document and your certificate number in the submission notes.
What to know
- Chrome extension works inside Canvas's web-based text editor
- Also pairs with Google Docs and Word Online for longer assignments
- Your assignment content is never read or stored by Scripli
- Certificate is publicly verifiable — no account required to check it
- Provides independent evidence your work is human-authored, not generated
Common questions
Will my institution accept a Scripli certificate as evidence?
A certificate provides independent, publicly verifiable evidence that a human writing session occurred. It's most effective when combined with other evidence (drafts, search history, notes). How it's weighted in a specific academic integrity process depends on your institution's policies.
Does Scripli work with all Canvas assignment types?
Scripli works with Canvas's rich-text submission editor (the built-in text box). It does not work with file-upload-only assignments where you write offline and upload a completed document.
What if my assignment spans multiple sessions?
Each Scripli session produces a separate certificate. For a multi-sitting assignment, you can share all certificates to establish your full writing timeline.
What if my instructor uses a Canvas quiz or timed assessment?
Timed Canvas quizzes and exams have strict timing and content controls. Check with your instructor before running any browser extensions during a timed assessment.
