Verify student authorship —
without relying on a detector

AI detectors expose institutions to legal and reputational risk when they produce false positives. Scripli gives students a verifiable proof record of their writing process — so you evaluate evidence, not guesses.

The problem

Acting on AI detector output alone is a liability

AI detectors analyse the statistical patterns of submitted text and return a probability score. They have no mechanism to determine whether a real human was present and writing. False positives are well-documented — particularly for non-native English speakers, highly-revised work, and certain subject domains.

When an institution acts on a detector score without supporting evidence, it puts itself in the position of accusing a student based on a statistical estimate. That creates exposure to grade appeals, formal complaints, and in some jurisdictions, legal challenge.

Scripli replaces the guess with a verifiable record.

How it works

From writing session to verified certificate

01

Student starts a Scripli session

Before writing, the student activates Scripli in their browser. The extension works alongside Google Docs, Canvas, Word Online, and any web-based editor — no change to the student's workflow.

02

Behavioural proof record is captured

Scripli records a timestamped proof record of the writing process in the background. The document text never leaves the student's device — only proof metadata is recorded.

03

Student receives a Human Authenticity Certificate

When the session ends, Scripli issues a certificate with a unique, permanent certificate number tied to that session. It cannot be transferred, shared, or reused.

04

You verify it instantly

Anyone can check a certificate number at scripli.com/verify — no account needed, no access to student document text. The result is immediate and independently verifiable.

What a Human Authenticity Certificate gives you

  • Verifiable evidence of human authorship — not a probabilistic detector score
  • No student document content ever stored or accessible to Scripli
  • Independent verification at scripli.com/verify — no institutional account needed
  • Certificate is permanently tied to a specific session — cannot be forged or reused
  • Reduces institutional exposure from acting on unreliable AI detector output
  • Works with the tools your students already use: Google Docs, Canvas, Word Online

Common questions

Can I require students to submit a Scripli certificate with their work?

Yes. You can set your own policy — require it for all submissions, for flagged submissions only, or leave it optional. Students who choose to use Scripli proactively can submit their certificate number alongside their work for you to verify at any time.

What does verification actually tell me?

Verification confirms that a real human was present and actively writing during the recorded session — based on behavioural proof metadata. It does not tell you whether the content is good, original, or on-topic. It tells you the writing activity was human.

What if a student submits one session's certificate for a different piece of work?

Certificates are tied to a specific session. A student can submit multiple certificates for a multi-sitting essay, giving you the full writing timeline. Misusing a certificate from a different assignment is a conduct question — the same way submitting a draft from a previous course would be — not a limitation of Scripli.

Does Scripli store or have access to the student's document text?

No. Scripli never reads, stores, or transmits the text content of any document. Only proof metadata from the writing session is recorded. No student data is accessible to educators, institutions, or Scripli staff.

What are the risks of continuing to rely on AI detectors alone?

AI detectors make probabilistic guesses based on text patterns. False positive rates are non-trivial, and institutions that act on detector output without supporting evidence expose themselves to grade appeals, institutional review, and in some jurisdictions, legal liability. Scripli doesn't replace your judgment — it gives you a more defensible evidentiary basis for it.
